Peace Out

(Vest: Thrifted, Shirt: SO via Kohls, Jeans and Flats: Target, Glasses: H&M)

On Saturday, I attended my aunt's annual pumpkin carving party. I decided that I should dress for the occasion but also wear something that would keep me somewhat warm since there was a chill in the air (this is where a vest is perfect). It was fun and I got to hang out with my 3 year old cousin who always seems to make me laugh. I tried to get him to say "Peace Out" with his fingers in a peace sign when I was leaving. He could say the words but couldn't get his fingers to work into a piece sign. So I put his fingers in a peace sign and he had it for a minute. Then throws his hands down in disgust and says "I lost it!" It was hilarious and he made everyone laugh! 3 years old is such a cute age!

Pumpkin Carving

(Oscar is not sure what we are doing.)

On Sunday night, Matt and I carved pumpkins so that we could be ready for tonight. I love carving pumpkins and as you can see I carved 3 this year (Matt only carved one). I take it a little more serious than Matt and I especially like the pumpkin with the circles on its face this year. For some reason, it reminds me of a ghost.

At work today, we are having a Chili Cookoff but I decided not to make chili. Instead I made a cake in the shape of a pumpkin. What do you think?

I Heart Boots!

(Dress and Cardigan: Target, Boots: GoJane, Belt: Thrifted)

Well I have been super busy and feeling sick lately so I haven't been able to post an outfit post. Here is something I wore last week before the snow hit (and yes I have pictures on my camera of the snow). I love being able to pair a dress with boots. I think it helps keep me warm when it is cool out (maybe I am just imaging that).

Hope everyone is having a great Halloween weekend. I went to my aunt's annual pumpkin carving party today and headed to a birthday and Halloween party tonight. And then there is always pumpkin carving tomorrow too!

Because I Love Fall (Friday)

I would say that Halloween is my second favorite holiday. And besides the decorating and colors, I love the dressing up. I always try and put some thought into my costume and try to make them from clothes I bought at the thrift store or already in my closet. I am not into the store bought, cheaply made costumes that they charge over 50 bucks.

Because I Love Fall (Thursday)

Fall in Colorado typically means cooler weather and beautiful days. But living here I have come to know that it can snow about anytime and October is no exception. Yesterday was the first real snow of the season of most of the front range. We of course got more snow than this with Colorado Springs getting about 5 inches and even more in the mountains. (Guess that just means I can go skiing sooner.)

Since I have been a little under the weather, I got this great shot from my guest room. I love how the white snow contrasts with the beautiful yellows, browns and greens.

Do you get snow storms this early where you live?

Because I Love Fall (Wednesday)

I know that I and everyone can make desserts for any holiday but I think that the desserts for fall and Halloween are the most fun. There is a way to make the desserts look creepy and spooky. Plus I love pumpkin anything like pumpkin cake, cookies, and pie.

Cake that I made for a friend's halloween party last year.

Possibly making this pumpkin cake for the halloween pot luck at work next week.

Creepy skeleton cookies.

Love these spider web cupcakes.

Halloween whoopie pies. I will make these this weekend.

Vitamin C and Sleep

(Coat: Old Navy, Sweater: Thrifted, Shirt: American Eagle, Pants and Flats: Target, Bracelets: F21, Glasses: Random Kiosk)

So day 4 of being sick and I can't seem to kick whatever I have. I think now it is turning into a sinus infection but can't really tell yet. Whatever I got is kicking my butt, but on the bright side I did make it through a whole day of work yesterday and I am hoping I don't have to head home today. A good dose of vitamin C and some more sleep may help me though. Hopefully by the weekend I will start feeling better.

P.S. These pics were  taken when I wasn't sick and that it why I look so happy!

Because I Love Fall (Tuesday)

I would say my favorite part about Halloween is getting to carve pumpkins. I am a sucker for going to get a pumpkin or two and they have to be just perfect. And there is no carving pumpkins with designs (with the exception of my sun below), you have to carve them with a face. As you can see every year has to be a little different. This year I am carving 2, maybe 3, pumpkins because Saturday I am going to my aunt's annual pumpkin carving party and then Sunday I will make Matt carve the pumpkins on our porch. (The baby pumpkins above are painted and Oscar looks so happy to be by them.)

Because I Love Fall (Monday)

The colors of fall are beautiful. I love the oranges, browns, and yellows of the leaves and the sunsets are great especially behind the mountains.

The pictures are from around my neighborhood. Enjoy!

At Home

(Cardigan, Jeans, and Flats: Target, Shirt: SO via Kohls, Belt: Thrifted, Glasses: Random Kiosk)

I wore this outfit last Friday when I spent the day shopping and hanging out with my bestie. I am glad I wore it then since I am at home today wearing sweats and catching up on Grey's Anatomy. I am feeling a little under the weather and only went to work for 2 hours. Even though I am sitting here in sweats, I am participating in two birds inspiration monday.

I hope you are having a better Monday than me.
