Jail Bird

(Cardigan, Dress and Tights: Target, Boots: UrbanOG, Bracelets: F21)

Every time I wear this dress I feel like a jail bird. I know the stripes aren't that big and don't represent a prisoner. But to wear this dress without a cardi or sweater is too much pattern, I think.  I decided to pair this dress with a pair of green tights (that don't look too Peter Pan-ish). How would you style a very bold, striped dress?

New Wedges

(Jacket: Old Navy, Sweater: via Kohls, Shirt and Jeans: Target, Wedges: Steve Madden via DSW)

After sitting in a car all day yesterday, I was glad to spend the night at a hotel in Nevada where we could get some gambling done. Of course I didn't wear this in the car all day; I actually wore this last week and forgot to post it. I got these wedges about a month ago and decided it was time to wear them. I came to the realization that 1.) I suck at wearing any kind of heel, 2.) I am way taller than Matt and 3.) They work perfect with these skinny jeans and would look great with flares.

We're Off

(Dress: H&M, Shirt: via JC Penneys, Jeggings: Target, Boots: UrbanOG)

Today we are off to Oregon to visit Matt's family. It should be fun and the drive shouldn't be too bad if the weather stays nice. It is a 16 hour drive through Wyoming and Nevada (not the most scenic states) but at least we get to stay and gamble one night. Hope you all had a great Christmas!

Ski Trip

Hey everyone! No outfit post today because I have been up in the mountains skiing all day. And I am pretty sure what I wear skiing isn't very stylish. So I thought I would share a photo I took this morning. Enjoy your Friday

Surprise

(Cardigan: Thrifted, Shirt and Jeans: Target, Boots: UrbanOG)

I got a great surprise this morning! It has been snowing all night and my work was closed till 9 this morning. I didn't get to sleep in since I was up at normal time but I did finish the Christmas stockings that I have been working on and I got to catch up on a few shows while the snow continued to fall outside. Maybe it will keep snowing and I will get to go home early. Working a half day because of the weather is perfectly fine with me since I have a few more Christmas presents to get before the weekend!

This is what it looked like at 7 this morning; the stockings that I finished (Oscar's looks the best)

Treats

(Shirt: via Ross, Button Up: AE, Skirt: Swapped, Tights: Walmart, Boots: Candies via Kohls)

Christmas treats are always so amazing no matter what they are. And I can't seem to get enough of them. My mom makes amazing treats like peanut cluster and english toffee and my coworkers keep bringing things in from sugar cookies to chocolate truffles. I need to stay away as I have a wedding almost 3 months away and I need to fit in my dress. But maybe one or two more won't hurt me.

What are your favorite Christmas treats?

Snow and Deer

(Sweater: Thrifted (J.Crew), Shirt: SO via Kohls, Jeans: Target, Boots: UrbanOG)

It's like a winter wonderland outside and I have to say I love it! Even though my drive into work was a pain and there was a dumb deer with one antler standing in the middle of the road. And this deer only had one antler (think Max on the How the Grinch Stole Christmas) and just was staring at nothing. It snowed like 5-6 inches and it is so beautiful. The mountains always look so pretty all covered in snow. So today my goal is to stay warm and make it home in one piece. Have a great Tuesday!

Grandma Time

(Sweater: AE, Button Up: Thrifted (AE), Jeans: Target, Socks: Walmart, Boots: GoJane)

On Friday, I spent most of the morning with my grandma getting her a new cell phone and then heading to lunch. It's so funny to go into the phone store with her where she gets all sorts of confused by all of the new technology. She always gets the same phone with no internet access or anything. She doesn't even text and only calls on it when she remembers where it is. I love hanging out with my grandma (and another plus was getting a free lunch).

3.5 Months

(Cardigan: Target, Shirt: F21, Jeans: Target, Boots: GoJane)

Wedding day is 3 and a half months from today. I am getting really excited but starting to stress out at the same time. I made a list of things to do still and it was a lot longer than I expected. I know it will all get done and everything will work out fine. I can cross 2 things off this weekend: bridesmaids dresses and invitations. It is going to be here before I know it.

Almost Vacation

(Vest: Old Navy, Shirt: JcPenneys, Jeans and Boots: Target, Necklace: Thrifted)

I am so ready for a vacation that I am counting down the days till I have a break from work. Lets see 5 more work days and I will be all done for almost 2 weeks. I mean I had a day off yesterday but that was only because I had to flu (Thanks dad for getting me sick). A sick isn't the type of day off that I want. Maybe during my actual vacation I will get to go skiing with Matt and my brother. We are also traveling to see Matt's family between Christmas and New Years. It's going to be a great vacation (I just have to wait till next Thursday).

Christmas Party

(Leather Jacket: Thrifted, Shirt: SO via Kohls, Skirt: via Ross, Belt: F21, Tights: via Kohls, Shoes: UrbanOG, Earrings: Thrifted)

This past weekend my work had their annual Holiday Party for the engineering staff and we decided to dress up more since we don't get the opportunity to very often. It is always a good time and a great way to see how your co-workers act outside of work. There is a white elephant gift exchange, so we decided to take a 2 pound candy cane that Matt got me as a joke. At the party, we got a t-shirt saying "Honey Badger vs Cobra" (there is a YouTube video featuring it). Overall it was a great night even though the food was so-so.

Do you have Holiday Parties to go to? What do you wear to them?

Matt even got dressed up. Doesn't he look all snazzy?!
