No Sleep For Me

(Dress: H&M, Leggings: via Ross, Flats: Target, Necklace: Etsy Shop)

I can't seem to get my mind to shut off long enough to fall asleep. Don't you hate it when there is dumb drama in your life that seems to bug you and keeps you up. So I have resorted to sitting on the couch, blogging and catching up on Glee and Project Runway. At least I have the company of Oscar even though he is asleep on my lap.

Matt and I decided to have some fun with doing some jumping pictures.

Allergies or what?

(Shirt: Thrifted, Vest: Gap, Pants and Flats: Target, Necklace: My Grandma's)

The past couple of mornings and all of today I have been stuffed up and with some other symptoms. I don't know if it is allergies kicking up or I am actually getting sick. I haven't been sick since last December and that is a long time for me. All I know is that they are not really being my friend and making me feel pretty bad (today at least). Maybe if the weather would decide either to be hot or cool that would help. Just keep your fingers crossed it is just allergies and I don't get sick.

Bridal Show Blah!

(Dress and Cardigan: H&M, Cami: SO via Kohls, Flats: Target, Belt: Thrifted, Necklace: F21, Earrings: Charolette Russe)

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Between a graduation/completion bbq, a birthday party, a bridal show, and football, my weekend was fun and busy. I realized that after going to a bridal show, this being the first one as me being the bride and like 4th overall, that the only good reason to go is getting to try free samples of cake. I am pretty sure I ate the best lemon cake yesterday ever, well it was actually a cupcake. I am hoping my cake for my wedding will be delicious and maybe there will even be a lemon layer.

Fiance, Friends and Fun

(Shirt: SO via Kohls, Jeans: Target, Boots: GoJane, Scarf: Thrifted, Earrings: F21)

It's been a busy couple of days, but all of it has been fun. I've attended a graduation/completion ceremony, a bbq with friends, and a birthday party so far this weekend along with making a cake for the birthday party. Matt finally finished his class and I got to spend half of yesterday and all of today with him. I sure did miss having my fiance around and spending all day just being with him. We spent last night celebrating the completion of Matt's class with some friends and got home way too late for me. Today I have taken 2 naps already and plan on going to bed here soon. Man, I am getting old and can't go to bed after 11 anymore!

Hope you all are having a great weekend! Have you seen Bridesmaids? It's pretty funny and kind of dirty!

Workin' On

(Cardigan: Old Navy, Shirt: via Kohls, Skirt: Go Jane, Flats: Target)

Oh work, work, work! Sometimes I wish that I didn't have to get up in the morning and come to work. But then I think about how bored I get on the weekends and I couldn't imagine not going to work and doing something productive all day. It would be different if I had kids but Oscar really doesn't count and all he does during the day is sleeps!

Today work has been pretty busy, which makes the day go by pretty fast, but I never feel like I have time to catch up. I guess that is what winter is for because when there is snow I can't do field studies. So 3 things to end on:
  • I enjoy my job and I am thankful for it.
  • Snow needs to wait at least another month before it starts poking its nose around here.
  • And Friday is the start of fall and my favorite time of year!

No More Sports

(Shirt: F21, Pants: Thrifted, Flats: Keen, Necklace: F21)

I feel like all that is on the tv in my house lately is sports, probably because it is. Matt just watches ESPN or MLB Network all the time. I am excited to actually get to watch something other than sports tonight (even though most of the time I don't mind it. Tonight is the season premiere of Glee and I will be watching it. I feel like all these new shows are starting and none of them really interest me. I guess that just leaves more time for spending time with Matt and Oscar and getting some more crocheting done.

Not So Pirate-Like

(Cardigan: Target, Dress: via Ross, Boots: Target, Belt: Thrifted, Bracelet: F21)

Wow my weekend when fast and was filled with flowers, movies, thirfting, cleaning and relaxing at home. Matt's last weekend of school was this last weekend and I got a lot done. At least next weekend, I will have someone to help me clean and to hang out with. Wedding centerpieces are in full swing and I am designing all of them. As of now, I have 2 of 20? done. I have a lot of work to do. On Saturday, I saw "The Help" with my mom and it was a great movie (and followed the book very closely). I also got some glassware from the thrift store for the wedding.

Hopefully you had a great weekend! Did you know that today is National Pirate Day? My outfit is not so pirate-like.

I am participating in Two Birds Inspiration Monday this weekend. It has been fun to chose an outfit based on a great celebrity!!! What do you think of my outfit compared to Maggie's?

Rain Here Equals Snow There

(Shirt: via Ross, Cami: SO via Kohls, Pants: Target, Boots: GoJane, Earrings: F21, Glasses: H&M)

The clouds have cleared and the sun is out today. Pikes Peak has got its first snow of the season and every here and there I see a few yellow leaves. Fall seems to be in full swing here and it's not officially fall yet.

It's going to be another weekend with not much to do since Matt is in class. Maybe I will get some more squares for my afghan completed.

Have a great weekend!

Flooding

(Vest: Thrifted, Shirt: Old Navy, Pants: Thrifted, Boots: Teva, Earrings: Charolette Russe)

The last 2 days have been rainy and cooler, but I don't mind because it has been cool enough to get some use out of my fall wardrobe. Yesterday afternoon started with a downpour and it ended sometime this morning. We had a record of 5 inches of rain in the past 24 hours which is half of what we normally get in a season. Of course with all that rain, we had flash flood warnings out the wazoo yesterday. Everything is fine now just dealing with some trails being closed near the house and standing water on the road.

When I walked out my door this morning, all I could hear was the rushing of water like a river makes. Well the creek that is close to my house was flooded so much that it made a river. Here are some pictures of what was left this afternoon. (That bridge is a trail and the water was higher than the bridge at one point.)

Finished

(Blazer: Thrifted, Shirt: SO via Kohls, Pants: Thrifted, Boots: Teva, Necklace: Etsy Shop)

Today was a great day with the exception of the afternoon, which seemed to drag. Could have been the dreary weather that came in after lunch or just I only had paperwork to do (and no afternoon walk). One good part of the day was getting released from my doc. So here is the back story. I had a bump on my lower abdomen, which was removed about a month ago. Don't worry it was nothing bad and I am fine now but I have slowly been recovering from the surgery and incision. I am feeling great and pretty much back to normal except for running. Who really wants to run anyway.

Copy Cat (Sorta)

(Shirt: SO via Kohl's, Dress/Skirt: ModCloth, Flats: Target, Belt: F21, Earrings: Target)

I am having a bit of writers block today. Maybe it is because today has been a long, stressful day at work (well maybe I should say days) or maybe it is I haven't done a lot lately with Matt being in school. Anyway, I am ready to go home, sit on the couch and crochet. I started an afghan, which consists of 25 squares, and I am only on square 2. I have a lot more to work on, so when I get home I will get to workin'.

You can see where else I wore this outfit, basically the skirt.
