Not So Pirate-Like

(Cardigan: Target, Dress: via Ross, Boots: Target, Belt: Thrifted, Bracelet: F21)

Wow my weekend when fast and was filled with flowers, movies, thirfting, cleaning and relaxing at home. Matt's last weekend of school was this last weekend and I got a lot done. At least next weekend, I will have someone to help me clean and to hang out with. Wedding centerpieces are in full swing and I am designing all of them. As of now, I have 2 of 20? done. I have a lot of work to do. On Saturday, I saw "The Help" with my mom and it was a great movie (and followed the book very closely). I also got some glassware from the thrift store for the wedding.

Hopefully you had a great weekend! Did you know that today is National Pirate Day? My outfit is not so pirate-like.

I am participating in Two Birds Inspiration Monday this weekend. It has been fun to chose an outfit based on a great celebrity!!! What do you think of my outfit compared to Maggie's?

Rain Here Equals Snow There

(Shirt: via Ross, Cami: SO via Kohls, Pants: Target, Boots: GoJane, Earrings: F21, Glasses: H&M)

The clouds have cleared and the sun is out today. Pikes Peak has got its first snow of the season and every here and there I see a few yellow leaves. Fall seems to be in full swing here and it's not officially fall yet.

It's going to be another weekend with not much to do since Matt is in class. Maybe I will get some more squares for my afghan completed.

Have a great weekend!

Flooding

(Vest: Thrifted, Shirt: Old Navy, Pants: Thrifted, Boots: Teva, Earrings: Charolette Russe)

The last 2 days have been rainy and cooler, but I don't mind because it has been cool enough to get some use out of my fall wardrobe. Yesterday afternoon started with a downpour and it ended sometime this morning. We had a record of 5 inches of rain in the past 24 hours which is half of what we normally get in a season. Of course with all that rain, we had flash flood warnings out the wazoo yesterday. Everything is fine now just dealing with some trails being closed near the house and standing water on the road.

When I walked out my door this morning, all I could hear was the rushing of water like a river makes. Well the creek that is close to my house was flooded so much that it made a river. Here are some pictures of what was left this afternoon. (That bridge is a trail and the water was higher than the bridge at one point.)

Finished

(Blazer: Thrifted, Shirt: SO via Kohls, Pants: Thrifted, Boots: Teva, Necklace: Etsy Shop)

Today was a great day with the exception of the afternoon, which seemed to drag. Could have been the dreary weather that came in after lunch or just I only had paperwork to do (and no afternoon walk). One good part of the day was getting released from my doc. So here is the back story. I had a bump on my lower abdomen, which was removed about a month ago. Don't worry it was nothing bad and I am fine now but I have slowly been recovering from the surgery and incision. I am feeling great and pretty much back to normal except for running. Who really wants to run anyway.

Copy Cat (Sorta)

(Shirt: SO via Kohl's, Dress/Skirt: ModCloth, Flats: Target, Belt: F21, Earrings: Target)

I am having a bit of writers block today. Maybe it is because today has been a long, stressful day at work (well maybe I should say days) or maybe it is I haven't done a lot lately with Matt being in school. Anyway, I am ready to go home, sit on the couch and crochet. I started an afghan, which consists of 25 squares, and I am only on square 2. I have a lot more to work on, so when I get home I will get to workin'.

You can see where else I wore this outfit, basically the skirt.
